Vogue Japan – “The Girl Who Rocks The Planet”
Some fashion editors and stylists put looks together for editorials based on their own style. It could be good if their style goes well with the concept of the shoot, but if it doesn’t and it is forced then the editorial can be lost on the readers and the whole thing can be a failure. This editorial from Vogue Japan is called “The Girl Who Rocks The Planet” and it features Aline Weber looking like the woman who styled her as she immerses herself in Japanese pop culture in garments from The Blonds, Roberto Cavalli, Reed Krakoff and many others. The Brazilian beauty fits right in with her over-the-top styling while standing out from the crowd and the high fashion pieces complement the crazy Harajuku background which gives an unexpected twist to the editorial. If you haven’t figured it out yet the looks were put together by Vogue Japan’s Editor-at-Large Anna Dello Russo and the images are captured by photographer Giampaolo Sgura for the Japanese publication’s April 2012 issue.
