Vogue Netherlands – “L’Esprit Garçonne”

L'Esprit Garçonne1

Girls dressing like boys isn’t really a new thing in fashion. In fact, Coco Chanel herself have dressed in men’s clothes if you’ve seen the movie Coco Avant Chanel and Amelia Earhart wore trousers at a time when women’s fashion included corsets and billowy skirts. This editorial from Vogue Netherlands is all about this season’s version of androgynous dressing which includes oversized suits, shirts and shorts that are cool and hip. The editorial, titled “L’Esprit Garçonne” (The Hipster Spirit”), stars Nimuë Smit who exudes a tomboyish spunk while wearing pieces from Haider Ackermann, Comme des Garçons, Sportmax and many others. The Dutch model is styled by Jos Van Heel and photographer Jan Welters lensed the images for Vogue Netherlands’ March 2013 issue.
